Arkansas mogul just bought his sixth name-brand Napa property

Lawrence Wine Estates, owned by Arkansas agricultural mogul, Gaylon Lawrence Jr. has announced the acquisition of a 27-acre vineyard and winery in Napa from Luna Vineyards. The new property will become a part of the Burgess Cellars brand, acquired by Lawrence in 2020. This marks the sixth name-brand property in Napa acquired by Lawrence since 2018. 

In addition to the new Burgess tasting room, Lawrence Wine Estates will open a tasting room in downtown Napa in August for their new brand, Brendel. Heitz Cellar plans to reopen in August after undergoing renovations and Stony Hill Vineyard recently reopened to visitors. 

Burgess’ newly acquired property was originally home to St. Andrews Winery and sits along the Silverado Trail, one of Napa Valley’s main arteries.
