Austin Peay just welcomed the newest addition to its growing helicopter fleet, a black Robinson R44 helicopter. In 2019, the university became the first and only helicopter flight school in the state that awards bachelor’s degrees. F&M Bank President and CEO, Sammy Stuard, who also serves as chair of the Regional Airport Authority, presented the aviation science program with a $100,000 donation on behalf of F&M Bank.
The Austin Peay aviation science facility at the Clarksville Regional Airport includes a hangar, classroom space, a flight simulation room, computer work area for rotorcraft students and room for flight instructors and a mechanic.
F&M Bank is one of eight community banks owned by Gaylon Lawrence, Jr.
