Carlton McCoy Jr. has made a name for himself in the wine industry amongst the elite. He is the first Black CEO of a Napa Valley winery and managing partner at Lawrence Wine Estates. His mission to detoxify and diversify the wine industry in America stems from his upbringing. Growing up in a deprived Washington D.C. neighborhood, McCoy did not have much exposure to wine. That is why he works to improve inclusivity within the industry for people of color where drinking wine is still seen as “far-fetched.”
McCoy takes pride in creating a community which aligns its values with a broad audience.
