The Wilson Wine Experience will take you on a journey through the five senses with a series of wine tastings and dinners. Located just a quick drive from Memphis, Wilson, Arkansas was once known as a logging and sawmill town. In 2010, the Wilson family sold their land to The Lawrence Group, headed by Gaylon Lawrence Jr. Lawrence made it his mission to revitalize Wilson and turn the town into a desirable tourist destination.
Chef Roberto Barth, Lawrence’s former personal chef, is responsible for the menu at each Wilson Wine Dinner, each menu focusing on a different theme. Norbert Mede, VP of Operations for Wilson, assists Barth shopping locally and nationally to find the right wine to pair with each dish.
Dinners consist of multiple courses to accentuate the senses. Barth and Mede put a unique twist in everything they create, balancing each palate with sweet and savory flavors. In between courses, Mede explains the nature and inspiration of each dish and what he hopes guests will take away from it.
Looking forward, Mede and Barth plan to continue with more focused dinner events, crafting unique experiences for guests. This is just the beginning of what Wilson can offer.
